    The thing is that, the adolescent stage of humans has the most surge of hormones (because of growth spurt and secondary sex traits). This leaves them vulnerable to having sex or they have higher urges for sexual activities. Another thing to blame for teenage pregnancy is lack of education. Teenagers don't pay that much attention to sex education and how the science of fertilization works. This is why they engage in sexual activities while neglecting the fact that they can conceive or make someone pregnant. Another thing is the stigma of contraceptives. While some teenagers know that they need protection before doing sexual activities, they end up not getting one because they fear of judgment from people around them. This is what makes it hard for them to buy contraceptives from pharmacies. They feel shame about getting one.
