    A.Background of the Study


    Background information identifies and describes the history and nature of a well-defined research problem with reference to the existing literature.     The significance of the study is basically a written statement that "explains why your research was important". It justifies why your research was needed, the impact of your research in your field, its contribution, and how others (audience) would benefit from it.

    37.18 gram / 44.01 g = 0.84 mol

    Given Data:

    V (volume) = 22.4 L (in STP)

    T (temperature) = 273.15 K (in STP)

    n (amount of gas in moles) = 0.84 mol   or 37.18 grams

    R (gas constant) = 0.0821 atm.L / mol.K

    P (pressure) = ? unknown


    We can use the formula PV=nRT, and to solve for P we will use P = nRT/V

    P = nRT/V

      = 0.84 mol × 0.0821 atm.L / mol.K × 273.15 K / 22.4 L  

      = 18.8375166 atm / 22.4

      = 0.84 atm

    Pressure is 0.84 atm

    The type of chemical reaction is double displacement in which cations in both compound of the reactant switch places in the product.

    To Balance the chemical equation:

           2Bi(NO₃)₃  +  3CaI₂    ⇒   2BiI₃   +  3Ca(NO₃)₂                          ↓                                        ↓                    Reactant                           Product                      Bi = 2                                 Bi = 2                     Ca= 3                                 Ca= 3                      I  = 6                                    I = 6                   NO₃ = 6                              NO₃ = 6

    We balance the chemical equation since atoms are not destroyed in the process and the mass is conserved. The mass of the reactant is equal to the mass of the product which also means, the number of atoms of elements in both the product and reactant are equal.
