To know the will of God, first, you must learn to hear the voice of the Lord. As written in Book of John:
"My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:..."
But to learn how to obey God you must acknowledge yourself as a sinner in God's eyes, ask for forgiveness and show the willingness to change your lifestyle by accepting Jesus Christ as Saviour and The Only Way to God. As the Book of Romans and Ephesians has written:
"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,"
"In Him(Jesus Christ) we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace"
In the scriptures, Salvation is a gift from God, not something to be worked hard for. As written in Book of Ephesians:
“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, So no one will be PROUD of it.” Ephesians 2:8-9
God wants to cleanse us from our sins completely, so he is teaching us how to humble ourselves. As the books of Matthews and Luke mentions:
"For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted." Matthew 23:12 or Luke 14:11

John Calvin, French Jean Calvin, or Cauvin, (born July 10, 1509, Noyon, Picardy, France—died May 27, 1564, Geneva, Switzerland), theologian and ecclesiastical statesman. He was the leading French Protestant Reformer and the most important figure in the second generation of the Protestant Reformation. His interpretation of Christianity, advanced above all in his Institutio Christianae religionis (1536 but elaborated in later editions; Institutes of the Christian Religion), and the institutional and social patterns he worked out for Geneva deeply influenced Protestantism elsewhere in Europe and in North America. The Calvinist form of Protestantism is widely thought to have had a major impact on the formation of the modern world.
This article deals with the man and his achievements. For a further treatment of Calvinism, see Calvinism and Protestantism.
