# Find the equation of the line through (2,4) and (4,6).

• Réponse publiée par: cbohol56

Hello !!

Find the inclination.

m = (yB - yA)/(xB - xA)

m = (4 - 2)/(6 - 4)

m = 2/2

m = 1

Find the linear coeficient.

y = mx + n

4 = 1(2) + n

4 = 2 + n

2 + n = 4

n = 4 - 2

n = 2

Reduced equation is y = x + 2

Find the general equation.

y = x + 2

x + 2 = y

x + 2 - y = 0

x - y + 2 = 0

General equation is x - y + 2 = 0

I hope I have collaborated !

Step-by-step explanation:

(-2, 3) Hence x0 = -2 , y0 = 3 Putting the values (y – 3) = –4(x – (-2)) (y – 3) = –4(x + 2) y – 3 = – 4x – 8 y + 4x – 3 + 8 = 0 y + 4x + 5 = 0 Hence,

the required equation is y + 4x + 5 = 0

i hope it helps po
