    Jerle gave 12 marbles to Shea, and 48 marbles to Wil

    Step-by-step explanation:

    Let: W= Wil's number of marbles

          S= Shea's number of marbles

          J= Jerle's number of marbles

    Given: We know that Shea has twice the number of marbles as Wil, so:

      S=2W

    We also know that Jerle has twice as many marbles as Shea, that means Jerle has 4 times the number of marbles than Wil, so:

    J=4W

    As Wil is the constant, we just say

    W=W

    So we are given this:

    S=2W

    W=W

    J=4W

    The three boys have a total sum of their marbles, which is 252 marbles, so we put it into an equation to get the total number of marbles each boy has,

    S+W+J=252

    2W + W + 4W= 252

    7W=252

    W=36

    We then multiply W=36 depending on the number of marbles each kid has, so

    Shea= 72 marbles

    Jerle= 36 marbles

    Wil= 144 marbles

    The question is, how many marbles did Jerle give to each of the two so that they have the same number of marbles?

    We can get this answer by dividing the total number of marbles(252) by 3(since there are three boys)

    252/3= 84

    So each boy has to have 84 marble for them to have the same number of marbles, we then add or subtract the total number of marbles each boy has to know how many marbles Jerle should give them

    Since: Shea has 72 marbles, Jerle has to give him 12 marbles

              Wil has 36 marbles, Jerle has to give him 48 marbles

              Jerle has 144 marbles, Jerle has to give away 60 marbles in total

    Jerle gave 12 marbles to Shea, and 48 marbles to Wil

    Rachel = Sean = n

    (n-20)=3(n-44)

    n - 20 = 3n - 132

    2n = 112

    n = 56

    Rachel = Sean = 56
