    Testosterone must be converted first into its active form by 5 alpha reductase or by itself, once activated, it binds to androgen receptor found in the cell subsequently this changes its structure and forms a complex and moves to the nucleus to further bind into the hormone responsive elements of a specific nucleotide found in the DNA affecting the production of proteins by certain genes thereby producing androgenic effects on the cell
